Programs

Not sure which program to sign up for or if we’re a good fit? Don’t fret. Here are some frequently asked questions if you’re still unsure.

+ What’s the difference between individual treatment sessions and the Hands-On Training Program?

In the Hands-On Training Program, I’m teaching you and not treating you. I use my hands to demonstrate self-treatment techniques and to correct or fine-tune your techniques as you practice. I educate you about your body and its functions, and I help you modify techniques to meet your specific needs. You get boatloads of resources and support.

In treatment sessions, I wear my physical therapy hat. I use my skilled hands to treat you. I ‘listen’ to your body using highly trained skills to find areas of restrictions that may be causing you pain and discomfort.

I’m intuitive and use an artistic style of treating your body. Treatment is integrative and comprehensive. To be honest, it’s hard to explain until you experience it for yourself. Sometimes you just need a body mechanic to give you a tune up!

+ What’s the coaching process like?

You know when you just need a little nudge because you’re feeling stuck in the moment? You have unique resources, skills, ideas, and strengths to bring to the table. You also have your own fears, weaknesses, and struggles that might be getting in the way of reaching your maximum potential.

Together, we’ll explore strategies necessary to make lasting lifestyle shifts to help you live the life you imagined. As a coach and educator, my job will be to show you your strengths, to challenge your comfort zone helping you overcome fears, to broaden your resources using my professional skills and networks, and to take a stand for your vision.

I’m here to support you, even if you feel like giving up.

  • Coaching helps you take action and empowers you to be an expert in your health
  • Coaching is being supported without any judgements
  • Coaching is an investment in yourself
  • Coaching is a commitment to change
  • Coaching doesn’t try to ‘fix’ you or tell you what you ‘should’ do
  • Coaching focuses on the mind, body, and spirit to enhance your quality of life

+ What’s {Pain} Train?

A journey with pelvic pain isn’t always easy and I know how frustrating it can be repeating yourself over and over again. That’s why I’ve collaborated with the folks at {Pain} Train to give you exclusive access to your very own communication portal.

You’ll be able to keep a detailed record of your entire health journey all in one spot! You can share this information with anyone you want.

When we work together, I’ll use the portal to make sure I’ve got a clear picture of your story and to track your progress during our time together. So no more having to repeat yourself or lug around all your health documents. (You can even upload imaging reports).

The best part? You can feel confident to tell your story the way you want and be empowered to manage your own pain journey. Once you sign up to work with me, you’ll get access to {Pain} Train for a whole year!

+ Do you only work with men?

No, I enjoy working with both men and women with persistent pelvic pain. I know how upsetting it can be with the shoe on the other foot, having suffered from painful intercourse myself.

+ Can you give nutritional advice?

I provide general health, wellness, and lifestyle advice. It’s not within my scope of practice to make personalized nutritional recommendations. If a licensed nutritionist is needed to meet your goals, I’ll be happy to connect you with one.

+ How long are coaching sessions?

The initial consult is 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 30 minutes. Please see the Guidance Program or Hands-On Training Program for more details.

+ How is the Hands-On Training Program set up?

The Hands-On Training Program is available twice a month (pending schedule). I can only accept three participants for each scheduled training session. You’ll be scheduled to come in on six consecutive days. Training times on each day can vary depending on availability. Click here for details about the program.

+ What are the benefits of health coaching?

Health coaching empowers you to take back control of your own life and health. It’s all about you. You get 100% of my undivided attention. It unlocks your potential to maximize your health.

Health coaching provides accountability, someone to go to when you just feel stuck or need that extra nudge to keep calm and carry on.

You’ll also get support, so you don’t feel alone trying to figure sh*t out.

One major benefit is I’ll do the research for you, give you the resources you need to achieve your goals and feel better, so you don’t need to wade through loads of irrelevant stuff on the internet wondering what applies to you.

Coaching provides lasting transformation too… if you’re willing to put in the hours!

“Savings in nearly $700 per month in healthcare costs”

+ What is your hourly consulting rate?

If you need additional support beyond what your program provides, additional consulting sessions can be scheduled. My consultation rate is $140/hr. You can split the hour into 30-minute sessions if that’s what floats your boat.

+ How can we work together if I’m not in North Carolina?

The Guidance Program is available to anyone in the world. If you’re willing to travel to Asheville, NC then you can enroll in the Hands-On Training Program I’d love to have you!

+ Can I work with you if I don’t have a doctor?

That’s what I’m here for! One of my roles is to provide you with ongoing physician and team-building recommendations. But if you already have a physician you like, I encourage you to visit them before beginning the program, and to continue to visit and be treated by your healthcare professionals.

+ Can I get treated by you?

You sure can! Treatment sessions can be added at an additional cost and are scheduled on an individual basis.

+ How do I pay you?

Once you enroll in a program, I’ll email you a client agreement and an invoice. Payments are due in full at time of enrollment. Payment plans are available per request.

+ How do I know if this will work for me?

Odds are we’re going to love working together if:

  • You’re ready to transform your life and start believing that a life without pain is possible.
  • You’ve got an open mind.
  • You’re fed up with conventional treatment methods.
  • You believe in the mind-body connection.
  • You want to be in the driver’s seat of your health.
  • You’re willing to put in the time, effort, and commitment to invest in yourself.
  • You’re ready to learn how to be an expert in treating yourself.
  • You don’t mind being pushed past your comfort zone.

+ What do you mean by health coach?

As your health coach, I support you all the way even when you feel like giving up. I’m here to help you find the bridge between knowing what to do and actually doing it. No judgement. No criticism. Just an ear to listen and a mouth to ask you all the right questions, so you can unlock your maximum potential and start living the life you envisioned. A life without pain.

+ Can I travel to see you if I really feel like I need to?

Of course! I’d love for you to visit me in the smokies. If you’d like to come down for a visit, check out the Hands-On Training Program for all the yummy benefits.

TREATMENT

+ Can I get treated without being enrolled in your program?

To get the best out of your experience, I strongly encourage enrollment in the Hands-On Training Program prior to receiving any additional treatment. The more time you invest in learning about your body, understanding pain, and treating yourself, the more successful you will be in living a pain-free life. The education and support you receive through my program is something you’ll have for the rest of your life.

+ What is pelvic rehabilitation?

Pelvic rehabilitation is an integrative approach to treating issues in the pelvis that contribute to bowel, bladder, sexual health, and pain complaints. To read more about pelvic rehab, check out my blog post on it here.

+ Do you accept insurance?

No, I don’t believe that insurance companies should dictate your care. I provide a unique experience for you to learn how to treat yourself; that isn’t something that’s covered by insurance. Typically, insurance companies don’t and won’t pay for preventative wellness, coaching programs, or body maintenance.

+ What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit/debit card, PayPal, or check (only in-person).

+ Do I need a referral from my doctor?

In North Carolina, a referral is not required for a physical therapy evaluation or treatment.

+ Do you treat only men?

No, I treat both men and women with persistent pelvic pain.

+ What should I bring to my first visit?

An open mind and a big smile. Oh and medical records are always helpful (i.e., operative reports, medication list).

Want access to your own communication portal so that you can safely track and share your story with anyone you want? Members enrolled in a program automatically get access to {Pain} Train.

+ How long is a treatment session?

Treatment sessions are scheduled for 60-minutes.

+ How many treatment sessions will I need?

Length of treatment is based on your individual needs and goals. I’m a firm believer in respecting the body’s natural healing process and timeframe. Health is a journey, not a race.

There are many factors that influence results, so no guarantees can be made as to the outcome of your treatment experience.

+ What are your individual treatment rates?

$140 for 60-minute treatment session.

+ What should I wear?

Something comfy like a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. For the ladies, a sports bra and your favorite yoga pants.

Because we’ll be exploring an intimate part of your body, you’ll probably have to take off your skivvies. But don’t worry. I won’t just let you hang out in the nude. You’ll have a soft, snuggly blanket draping over you for maximum relaxation and coziness.
