In The Know Down Below:

an intro to pelvic health for healthcare professionals

Pelvic health isn’t just for the private parts specialist. You, too, can make a difference in your patients’ lives without needing them to drop-trou.

After all, life is better without pain in their pants.

In The Know Down Below: an intro to pelvic health for healthcare professionals is a course specifically designed to help you feel comfortable addressing sensitive topics ‘down below’.

So that they can keep their pants on while they’re on the treatment table. Phew!

Dr. Susie Gronski - In the Know Down Below
In 24 years of being a physical therapist (mostly outpatient orthopedic), this is by far in the top 5 of my all-time favorite continuing ed courses. And it is definitely the most enjoyable and entertaining course I have ever taken. It is packed full of evidence-based research, but Dr. Susie encourages the practitioner to apply the research as we practice the ART of providing care in a compassionate and professional manner. Dr. Susie demystifies the pelvic floor and provides very basic and effective tools to address this area. The skills learned are definitely meant to address pelvic floor dysfunction, but very obviously applicable to treating other areas as well. ... Which is why this is a course I highly recommend every therapist to experience. You won’t be sorry!
— Barbie Thomas, M.P.T.

In this course, you’ll:

  • Learn basic cis female and cis male bit anatomy and how things work down there so that you’re confident to evaluate and treat pelvic health issues with your patients

  • Recognize common cisgendered pelvic health issues that make things go south - literally - so that you can maximize your patients’ health outcomes and recovery

  • Apply treatment techniques for common pelvic health issues so that you can be ready to use new skills day one back at the clinic

  • Know when to refer out to a qualified pelvic health practitioner when you’re in doubt

  • Feel comfortable asking questions about sexual health so that you can provide comprehensive care without embarrassment or discomfort

  • Receive an introduction to pain science and treatment application so that you can provide the best recovery plan for your patients

  • Perform a non-internal pelvic health assessment (getting results doesn’t always require internal work)

  • Apply treatment and behavioral strategies for incontinence, urinary urgency and frequency, pelvic pain, constipation

  • Understand the connection between the diaphragm and breathing mechanics on pelvic function

  • Practice external pelvic treatment techniques for assessing and treating pelvic related issues

Dr. Susie’s course is an informative, engaging, and fun perspective into Pelvic Floor health. As a healthcare practitioner myself, it’s often a topic that is avoided, discussed little or disregarded as pertinent because of the taboo nature of “down there.” Yet, dozens of patients show up with pelvic floor issues with a lack of support and a whole lot of questions. This course provided an in-depth look into the anatomy, physiology and common disruptions of a healthy pelvis. We discussed the way to converse with compassion, teach our patients to re-frame their sensations and create the space for the transformation toward comfort and health. I am grateful for the opportunity to bring this knowledge to my sessions with my patients and integrate what I learned from this course into their body healing experiences
