Dr. Susie Gronski - FAQ's

+ You offer the One-On-One Intensive, the Men's DIY Pelvic Pain Relief Program™, and Private Treatment Sessions. How do I know which is right for me?

Each program is tailored to meet your individual needs. Please check out the 6-Day One-on-One Intensive™, 3 Day Intensive, the Men’s DIY Pelvic Pain Relief Program™, or Private(s) Consultation descriptions on my website to help you narrow down which program is right for you. If you have questions, schedule a free 15 minute consultation.

+ What’s the difference between the Private(s) Consultation and the One-On-One Intensive™?

With the One-On-One Intensive custom program, I’m your...let’s say...concierge for the week. You get me every day, in my office, for up to 3 hours: I assess your pain, coach you through your best routes to relieve it, and leave you with a toolbox of techniques you can use for life. And, believe it or not, it’ll be fun. If you’re up for it, we’ll even take class outside -- yoga in the park, hiking, sometimes even dinner.

  • Fast-track your recovery
  • Gain the lifelong skills and power to live pain-free
  • Understand the reasons behind why you hurt (because when you know why you hurt, you hurt less)
  • Learn proven self treatments that will get your life back - without having to call the doctor again
  • Access an invaluable resource library that takes the research out of your hands (and keeps embarrassing search history off your browser)
  • Find out if you’re dealing with an overprotective nervous system and develop strategies to calm extra-sensitive nerves
  • Master non-painful, quick, discreet techniques and exercises to help ease pelvic tension and pain
  • Master body awareness and mindfulness techniques that benefit you far beyond pain relief (giving you extra clarity, focus, and resilience in the face of stress)
  • Re-train the protective pain response so you can get back to doing the things you love
  • Optimize your gut health (One-wipe wonders? Yes, please.)
  • Avoid unnecessary surgery and medications (especially antibiotics, which can mess up your gut, make you feel worse, and leave you resistant to antibiotics when you really need them -- hear about those MRSAs?)

+ What’s the Exploration Call all about?

During our 45 minute Exploration Call, we’ll 'break the ice' over a video call to review your health history, establish your goals for the One-On-One Intensive, and answer any burning questions you might have.

+ Do you only accept men for your One-On-One Intensive™?

No, I work with both men and women with persistent pelvic pain. I know how upsetting and frustrating it can be with the shoe on the other foot, having suffered from pelvic pain myself.

The 6 Day Intensive Program™ and 3 Day Intensive is tailored individually for male and female pelvic pain with an exclusive Hands-On Training Guidebook™ and access to an invaluable resource library that takes the research out of your hands (and keeps embarrassing search history off your browser).

+ Can I submit the One-On-One Intensive to insurance for reimbursement?

Unfortunately, no. Insurance rules are crazy -- they don’t even cover hearing problems. The Intensives are a wellness program, with ongoing support and not just focusing on the “physical" part of therapy. Integrative and functional medicine/lifestyle coaching are not covered by insurance.

Remember that your 6 Day Intensive includes two follow up support calls and “quick question” email access. But yes! Additional 30-minute, virtual consultation sessions can be scheduled (additional fees apply). You can also join the Private(S) Membership which is only available if you participate in a One-On-One Intensive.

+ What's included in the Private(S) Membership?

  • 1 x 30-minute video or phone call per month
  • 1 text check-in per month
  • 1 email correspondence per month
  • $399 off any future one-on-one intensives (come visit me anytime, it's 100% customized so it won't be the same ol' thing twice)
  • Just like a gym membership, if you don't use it, you lose it (no rollovers)

+ Can I come to see you if I don’t live in North Carolina?

Absolutely! I’d love for you to visit Asheville. Many patients travel from various parts of the world to work with me.

I know that planning a trip can be challenging, but never fear, I’ve got you covered! After you sign up to the 6 Day One-On-One Intensive™, 3 Day Intensive or just visiting for a Private(s) Consultation, you’ll get a follow up email with a detailed list of items and information you’ll need to help make your visit to Asheville a wonderful experience.

+ Can I work with you if I don’t have a doctor who is currently treating me?

In order to participate in the 6 Day Intensive or the 3 Day Intensive, it’s recommended that you consult with your doctor or healthcare professional prior. You want to make sure all “big ticket” items and red flags have been cleared. If you’re nervous about who to see or don’t know if you need to see a doctor, the exploration call with me is set up so that we can determine what next steps are appropriate for you to take.

One of my roles is to provide you with ongoing physician and team-building recommendations. But if you already have a physician you like, I encourage you to visit them before beginning the program, and to continue to visit and be treated by your healthcare professionals. If your physician or other team members want to speak with me, we can arrange that.

+ If I enroll in the 6 Day or 3 Day One-On-One Intensive, can I also receive additional treatment from you?

You sure can! Additional time is a la carte and can be scheduled during your time with me.

+ When can I schedule my 6 Day One-On-One Intensive™?

You can book it right now! And the sooner we get it in the books, the better. The 6 Day Intensive™ is available twice a month. I only schedule three participants at a time (you're seeing me exclusively and will not have interaction with other participants.)

+ Do I need a referral from my doctor to see you?

No, because North Carolina is a direct access state for physical therapy services. If you’re looking to receive Private Treatment Sessions and would like to submit to insurance for reimbursement, you will need to double check with your insurance company for any restrictions or referrals that might be necessary for submission.

+ What is pelvic rehab?

Pelvic rehabilitation is an integrative approach to treating issues in the pelvis that contribute to bowel, bladder, sexual health, and pain complaints. To read more about pelvic rehab, check out my blog post on it here.

+ Do you accept insurance for private treatments?

No, I don't participate with any insurance companies.

If you're receiving private treatment sessions, you have the option of requesting a superbill at the end of your treatment with me so that you can submit the bill to your insurance company for direct reimbursement to you.

Each insurance plan is different, so I can't guarantee reimbursement. Please check with your individual insurance policy for coverage and reimbursement details.

+ What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept credit/debit, check or cash.

+ How long is a private treatment session?

Treatment sessions are approximately 1 hour long. If you would like a longer session, additional fees apply.

+ What should I wear when I come to see you?

Please wear something comfy like shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt. And because we’ll be exploring an intimate part of your body, you’ll probably take off your skivvies (underwear!). But don’t worry, I won’t just let you hang out in the nude. You’ll have a soft blanket ready for you to drape over yourself for maximum relaxation and privacy.
