WHAT IS THE ROLE OF OT IN MALE PELVIC HEALTH?

Mind, body, and function: how occupational therapy can help you to still give a handjob even if you struggle with arthritis.

The main concerns that occupational therapy in our clinic helps men with are pooping, peeing, and sex. In our clinic, occupational therapy plays a role in assessing, educating, treating, and creating modifications/adaptations for various conditions and disabilities; from hip joint replacement therapy to living life with arthritis, there is a range of physical and emotional challenges that Occupational Therapists can help with.

To help you get back to engaging with life, Occupational Therapists discuss patterns of your pain to identify when your pain is lowest, positions or ways of doing things, and suggest and help you explore adaptive tools. No matter what the solution, Occupational Therapists stick with you until you’ve figured something out, something that can feel rare in the medical. With an OT, you know you have someone on your side always ready to figure it out with you.
